Technical Services in Academic Institutes

Transiot provides helping hand for engineering colleges to set-up new laboratories. As syllabus gets updated often and new tools will be required for the labs, we provide those tools and also training on the tools and manuals will be provided. Our aim is to deliver updated technical knowledge and to make students work with latest hardware/software tools, so that they will become into industry ready format and meets industrial expectation. Apart from this we provide networking solutions to academic institutes.

Industrial Training and Workshops

Industrial training is an unavoidable criterion in technical education. The objectives are

  • To improve the quality of technical education adequately to meet the needs of the industry and economy
  • Technical education system should operate at optimum efficiency and deliver quality product to employers.

As part of our industry interaction program with technical education institutes program we offer a bouquet of workshops for students. These workshops are intended to provide the students with a basic understanding of some of the technologies and tools that they will be in need once they join the industry.

    • Workshop on STM32F4 ARM Cortex M4 Programming

The Cortex-M family is optimized for cost and power sensitive MCU and mixed-signal devices for applications such as Internet of Things, connectivity, motor control, smart metering, human interface devices, automotive and industrial control systems, domestic household appliances, consumer products and medical instrumentation.

ST Micro Electronics promotion boards popularly known as Discovery boards are available in variety of versions with each version enables you exploring a different member to ST's Micro controller Family. STM32F4 Discovery board is one of those boards which let you explore the features and methods of STM32F4xx series of Controllers. So this training enables the attendees with industry latest microcontrollers and its features.

    • ARM7 Architecture and Programming its peripherals

The course is designed for those who want to pursue advance Embedded Systems. Embedded Technology Training enables a student, a technologist or a hobbyist to develop microcontroller based systems. The need of time is that every engineer should equip with Embedded Technologies. This Course cover complete details about NXP,s ARM7 (LPC2xxx) processors. Training will be given on ARM Development Board. It covers complete description of ARM7 architecture, Programming, Interfacing of IO device. Various interfacing techniques like I2C, SPI, ADC, DAC, and USB are also discussed. So, utilize your talent with technology of present and technology of the future.

    • Embedded System design starter course using PIC microcontroller

This course aims to equip participants with the fundamental understanding and skills needed to construct and program a PIC Microcontroller based project.. This workshop is designed to be beginner friendly even he/she does not have concrete basic in electrical and writing embedded program. Course starts with Embedded C programming from the basics. During hands-on session, participants are given opportunities to develop program for their own PIC Microcontroller board towards sharpening their programming skills and unleash their creativity. We will be using PIC16F series based development board as for prototyping the lab sessions.

    • Rapid prototyping of embedded systems and internet of things using Mbed

The mbed rapid prototyping platform is the fastest way to design products based on ARM microcontrollers. Mbed is mbed community supported ARM based Cortex M0/M3 platform, which has a series of development platforms. Using mbed a huge shared context with other developers, and that means when you have a question, there is less pre-amble, less explanation and less time reproducing issues, and more time getting answers. Internet of things comes from the idea of a globally interconnected continuum of devices, objects and things in general emerged with the RFID technology, and this concept has considerably been extended to the current vision that envisages a plethora of heterogeneous objects interacting with the physical environment. Mbed platform helps it attaining this dream. This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to this powerful platform and has been designed for a wide variety of users including the first time participant who just step into embedded system design world can create awesome projects.

    • A Deep dive into Open Source Hardware using Arduino

Arduino is an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a prototyping platform that simplifies the process of getting to build projects on your own. With an increasing number of users, it's becoming the platform of choice for students to get started with embedded systems. It's so simple to get things going that you would be up and doing your projects in no time. The Arduino programming environment is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users to take advantage of as well. For teachers, it's conveniently based on the Processing programming environment, so students learning to program in that environment will be familiar with the look and feel of Arduino. Hands on experience using Arduino UNO Board and other accessories will provide students a feel both hardware oriented software programming.

    • Workshop on Ultra low power MCU's MSP430 and TMS series based Starter Kits

This workshop is designed to give engineering students and professionals an in-depth knowledge of microcontroller programming, embedded application design using a ultra low power microcontroller. This course is designed keeping in mind the challenging industry standards and the need for practical learning for engineering students. This program will introduce the participants to various aspects of embedded programming, application development and implementation. The hardware and software used is completely new and it is from Texas Instruments.

    • RTOS with ARM platform

To provide an understanding of the essentials of a real-time operating system. What are the advantages? What are the tradeoffs? Hands-on exercises provide you with the necessary practical experience to go ahead and use a real-time operating system with your own embedded system after successfully completing this training. The training class uses hands-on exercises combined with instruction to illustrate the concepts of a real-time operating system. The concepts and commands necessary to make effective use of RTOS are described through a combination of theory and on-the-job training. Don't reinvent the wheel, but learn from an experienced trainer and take home a working knowledge of RTOS and the ability to use it effectively in your own embedded development project.

    • Embedded System Design using Linux in ARM Platform

Are you ready to dive into the world of Linux? The Linux open-source operating system is a powerful and robust platform for developing embedded systems; however starting a Linux development can be daunting and time consuming for those who have not previously developed in an embedded Linux environment. The "Introduction to Embedded Linux" workshop was developed for engineers with embedded C/C++ programming experience who would like an overview of the Linux operating system from a practical standpoint centered on the development of embedded Linux applications and systems. The workshop is targeted to students who have little (or possibly no) previous experience with Linux development. The Embedded Linux Workshop dedicates more than 50% of classroom time to hands-on lab exercises. The hands-on lab training will run on AM335x development board.

    • Device Drivers and Single Board Computers (SBC)

Apart from the trainings and workshops, we provide helping hand for engineering colleges to set-up new laboratories.     • Virtual Instrumentation using LabVIEW and data acquisition

This workshop is aimed to serve as a platform for the participants from engineering colleges to get a practical exposure of fundamentals and research application of virtual instruments. This workshop would enable students to take up their final year projects in Virtual instruments. They would be trained on programming and developing Virtual instruments using Lab VIEW and interfacing the hardware with LabVIEW. This experiment will introduce opening and running virtual instruments in Lab VIEW and using it to control a data acquisition (DAQ) card for making electrical measurements. This would also be very useful for stimulating the students to get placed in core industries.

    • Industrial networking and NS2

Hands on training on NS-2 are to enrich the participants on the working of NS-2, (Open Source Network Simulator). It is a discrete event simulator, targeted at network research which can be used to generate complex network topologies in the wired and wireless scenario. NS-2 can be used to simulate real environment and analysis. This training is integrated with Enterprise networking technologies like routing switch security etc. As part of the training basics of industrial networking will be covered and participants will get an awareness of industry leading vendors.

    • Linux Internals and system programming

System level programming is a challenging task. Knowledge in operating system internals and quality programming skills are required to write reliable, robust, fast performing and memory efficient system software. This course is designed to create the expertise in Linux system programming. This focuses on detailed programming with system call interface and internals of Linux environment. Details like resource sharing and management, flexibility through separating the role of mechanisms and policies; buffer management and module level interfaces will also be focused. This course delivers the in-depth knowledge on wide variety of topics that are essential for a developer. This course is appropriate for those who are really interested in Linux system level programming.

    • Linux system and Network administration

Linux is a Unix-like computer operating system assembled under the model of free and open source software development and distribution. This workshop is designed for students of Engineering College to achieve necessary skill set needed to deal with real-world Linux Systems and servers. The course considers System Administration, Maintenance, up gradations etc.

    • Enterprise Networking: A practical approach

An enterprise network is a computer network built by a business to interconnect its various company sites to share computer resources. This workshop is designed for students those who dream industrial networks. By attending this one can learn networking concepts in order to design and build small and medium business networks. We will train students with devices such as routers and switches from industry leading vendors so that one can design and develop SMB networks immediately.

    • VoIP Telephony

This workshop is aimed for working professionals in VoIP technology. IP telephony refers to communications that includes voice, SMS, voice-messaging, FAX etc. transported over an IP network, instead of using usual PSTN. The steps involved in a VoIP telephone call are signalling and media channel setup, digitization of the analog voice signal, encoding, packetization etc. This workshop will cover major VoIP protocols such as H.323, SIP etc.
